Final poster for Frank Miller’s The Spirit

The final poster art for Frank Miller’s latest film The Spirit is online. The latest and presumably final poster art for the film, to be released December 25 2008, is an interesting new way to rehash your already published, older poster material. An amalgam of previously published poster art this montage nevertheless looks utterly stunning and is definitely a head-turner.

The Spirit, an adaptation of the Will Eisner comic book series, stars Gabriel Macht, Samuel L. Jackson, Sarah Paulson, Eva Mendes, Dan Lauria, Paz Vega, Jaime King, Scarlett Johansson, Louis Lombardi and Stana Katic. Directed and written by Frank Miller, of Sin City and 300 fame, the film’s visuals immediately makes one think of those famous and successful Frank Miller projects. While I am not familiar with the original comic book series by Eisner and can not comment on their looks and feel, the trailers and posters published so far definitely have Miller’s influence all over them. Being a fan of Sin City and 300 I can not wait to see The Spirit. The visuals alone are intriguing. But with comparisons to 300 and especially Sin City being unavoidable The Spirit might have a lot on its plate to proof. Given how well said films were received the comparisons might turn out to be bad for The Spirit.

Five more weeks to go. Bring on xmas. And all I want is a certain film ticket. Have a look at a bigger version of the poster below.
