Trouble For Ugly Betty?

Trouble lies ahead in the mirky waters that is ABC. Steering right into it seems to be one of ABC‘s signature shows, Ugly Betty.

According to Ausiello ABC will be putting Ugly Betty on hold starting March 26 and replace it with episodes of Samantha Who? followed by In The Motherhood, the new Megan Mullally-Cheryl Hines comedy. Ugly Betty will conclude it’s season three run after the new shows have run their course.

When will we get back our Betty then?

It seems that we have to wait until the regular tv season is over. After doing the math it seems like Ugly Betty won’t be back before June. An ABC spokesperson had this to say:

“The Thursday night block is a good opportunity to launch these comedies. That said, Betty is a solid performer and there is no question that it will definitely be back to complete its season, just without repeats.”

Another hiatus for Ugly Betty. Is the show in trouble despite being critically acclaimed and winning awards all over the place? It wouldn’t be the first controversial decision ABC has made this tv season and I am sure it won’t be the last.
