Christian Bale’s Terminal Meltdown: UPDATE!

Who hasn’t listened to the f-bomb-audio-tape of Christian Bale ripping his director of photography a new one on the set of Terminator Salvation last year yesterday. The consensus of the dud, that blew up eventually, seems to be the same all over the net. No surprise really that someone from the Terminator Salvation production was going to speak out and try to clear the air before the film is released.

Bruce Franklin, an assistant director and associate producer on Terminator Salvation, spoke to E! Online about the f-bomb-tape and Christian Bale’s temper tantrum being nothing more than the actor having a bad day.

“If you are working in a very intense scene and someone takes you out of your groove…but was the most emotional scene in the movie,” said Franklin. “And for him to get stopped in the middle of it. He is very intensely involved in his character. He didn’t walk around like that all day long. It was just a moment and it passed.”

“This was my second movie with Christian and it has always been a good experience with him,” added Franklin, who also worked with the actor on 2000’s Shaft. “He is so dedicated to the craft. I think someone is begging to make some noise about this but I don’t think it’s fair. The art of acting is not paint by numbers, it’s an art form.

Bale’s temper tantrum wasn’t the only controversy the actor had going for him last year, when his mother and sister accused him of assault.

Representatives for Bale and director of photography Hurlbut have not yet commented on the release of the audio tape.
